One Book, One Town

2008

Water for Elephants, a novel by Sarah Gruen set in a traveling circus during the Depression, is the choice for One Book, One Town: Sharon Reads Together for 2008.  This town-wide program, so successful last spring, will once again bring together Sharon’s readers through discussions, programs, activities and movies spread over a two-month period.

One Book, One Town: Sharon Reads Together” is a program to bring members of the Town of Sharon together through the shared reading of the same book. The hope is that this shared reading experience will lead to informal conversations among strangers as well as participation in planned events . The One Book committee hopes to foster a sense of community through the program.

One Book, One Town: Sharon Reads Together is sponsored by The Sharon Public Library with support from The Trustees of the Sharon Public Library, The Friends of the Sharon Public Library and other community businesses and organizations.
