The Endowment Fund will help the Sharon Public Library provide the best possible service to Sharon residents, especially in these difficult financial times.

Its mission is to raise funds to support the library in its quest for expansion and to provide more and better services for library patrons.

This is an opportunity for Sharon’s citizens, friends and businesses to recognize the contributions that the library makes to the Town of Sharon.

FACTS

• The library’s per capita circulation is one of the largest in the state.
• The library has out-grown its current building and needs to expand into larger quarters to better house its growing collection of books, magazines, videos, DVDs, CDs and reference materials.
• The demand for more electronic services is growing and more public computer workstations are needed for patrons.
• Staffing levels are at bare minimums; additional staffing will lead to better service to the community.
• The Town of Sharon has been very supportive of the library, but has limited financial resources.
• Funding from state and federal governments is declining.
